Canine Hypothyroidism by W. Jean Dodds, DVM

Changing Vaccine Protocols (pdf format) by W. Jean Dodds, DVM

There are several health issues relevant to Shetland Sheepdogs. All breeding stock should be tested for:

Hip Dysplasia (OFA)
Thyroid issues (including TGAA screening)
vWD
Eye Abnormalities (through the CERF test)

It is also advisable to test at least hips and eyes on all non-breeding working dogs to ensure physical capability.
